- Pekmez (grape molasses) - 50 grams
- Unsalted butter - 40 grams (melted)
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Egg - 1 large
- Chopped walnuts - 30 grams
- Powdered sugar - for dusting (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, pekmez, and egg until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon or your hand.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
