Ingredients

  • Mackerel fillets - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion and minced garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the diced tomato and sliced bell pepper to the skillet, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
  3. Season the vegetable mixture with salt, black pepper, and chopped dill, stirring well to combine.
  4. Place the mackerel fillets on top of the vegetable mixture in the skillet, then drizzle with lemon juice.
  5. Pour the water into the skillet, cover with a lid, and let it steam for 15-20 minutes, or until the mackerel is cooked through and flakes easily.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional dill if desired.
