- Semolina - 100 grams
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
- Plant-based milk (almond or oat) - 250 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Mixed dried fruits (apricots, figs, raisins) - 50 grams
- Fresh fruits (banana, apple) - 100 grams (chopped)
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds) - 30 grams (for garnish)
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat until melted.
- Add the semolina to the pan and stir continuously for about 5-7 minutes until it turns golden brown.
- In a separate pot, combine the plant-based milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Heat until warm but not boiling.
- Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the semolina, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add the mixed dried fruits and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and fold in the fresh chopped fruits.
- Transfer the helva mixture to serving bowls or plates and let it cool slightly.
- Garnish with chopped nuts before serving.
