- Ground lamb or beef - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable or chicken broth - 400 ml
- Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried mint - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ground meat to the skillet, cooking until the meat is browned, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, dried mint, and paprika.
- In a separate pot, bring the vegetable or chicken broth to a simmer. Add the rice and tomato paste, stirring well. Cook uncovered for about 15 minutes on low heat until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Meanwhile, boil water in a large pot and cook the manti according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and serve it on plates. Top with the cooked ground meat mixture and the manti.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
