Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Water - 60 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground beef - 150 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Plain yogurt - 200 grams
  • Butter - 30 grams
  • Dried mint - 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, ground beef, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Cook until the beef is browned, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thick. Cut into 5 cm squares.
  5. Place about a teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners to the center and pinch to seal, forming a dumpling.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the manti dumplings in batches for about 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface.
  7. While the dumplings are cooking, combine the yogurt with a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  8. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the dried mint and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  9. Drain the manti and serve hot, topped with garlic yogurt and drizzled with the minted butter.
