Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4
- Plain Greek yogurt - 4 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush with olive oil.
- Cook the lamb patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the Greek yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl to create the sauce.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the grilled lamb patty, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
