Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4
  • Plain Greek yogurt - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush with olive oil.
  4. Cook the lamb patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the patties are cooking, mix the Greek yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl to create the sauce.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the grilled lamb patty, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your Mangal Burger!
