Ingredients

  • Mandarins - 3 medium-sized
  • Granulated sugar - 150 grams
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Wash the mandarins thoroughly and peel them, removing any seeds.
  2. Cut the mandarins into small pieces, discarding any tough membranes.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the mandarin pieces, water, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the mixture has thickened and the mandarins are tender, add the lemon juice and vanilla extract. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a clean jar.
  7. Let the mandalina reçeli cool completely at room temperature before sealing the jar.
