Ingredients
- Mandarins - 3 medium-sized
- Granulated sugar - 150 grams
- Water - 200 ml
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Wash the mandarins thoroughly and peel them, removing any seeds.
- Cut the mandarins into small pieces, discarding any tough membranes.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the mandarin pieces, water, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the mixture has thickened and the mandarins are tender, add the lemon juice and vanilla extract. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a clean jar.
- Let the mandalina reçeli cool completely at room temperature before sealing the jar.
