- Lamb shoulder - 200 grams, cut into small cubes
- Water - 1 liter
- Carrot - 1 medium, diced
- Potato - 1 small, diced
- Onion - 1 small, chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Rice - 50 grams, rinsed
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
Steps
- In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
- Add the lamb cubes to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the diced carrot and potato, cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Pour in 1 liter of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, skimming any foam that rises to the surface.
- Add the rinsed rice, salt, and black pepper. Continue to simmer for an additional 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
- Remove from heat, stir in the lemon juice and chopped dill. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve hot in bowls, garnished with extra dill if desired.
