Ingredients
- Lamb shoulder - 500 grams
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
Steps
- Cut the lamb shoulder into chunks and place them in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine olive oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the lamb and mix thoroughly to ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your grill or oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Skewer the marinated lamb pieces onto metal or soaked wooden skewers.
- Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven and cook for about 1 to 1.5 hours, turning occasionally, until the lamb is tender and slightly charred.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the kebabs with warmed pita bread and garnish with fresh parsley.
