Ingredients

  • Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, diced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Potatoes - 2 large (about 300 grams each)
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Chopped fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons
  • Sliced green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine diced lamb, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. While the lamb is marinating, wash the potatoes and pierce them with a fork several times. Bake them in the preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 45 minutes or until tender.
  4. Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven, cut them open, and scoop out a small portion of the flesh to make space for the filling.
  5. In a bowl, mix the scooped potato flesh with butter, yogurt, chopped parsley, and sliced green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Thread the marinated lamb onto skewers, then grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. To serve, fill the baked potatoes with the potato mixture and place the grilled lamb skewers on the side. Sprinkle with red chili flakes for an extra kick.
