Ingredients

  • Lamb shoulder - 400 grams, cubed
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh mint - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the cubed lamb with olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Thread the marinated lamb onto skewers, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
  4. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. While the lamb is grilling, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing plain yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped mint in a small bowl. Set aside.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing the grilled lamb skewers on the bottom half of the bun, adding slices of tomato, cucumber, and red onion. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Kuzu Şiş Burger!
