Ingredients

  • Dried oranges - 2 pieces
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 100 grams
  • Almonds - 30 grams, chopped
  • Walnuts - 30 grams, chopped
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
  • Cloves - 2
  • Rose water - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a pot, combine 500 ml of water, 100 grams of sugar, 1 cinnamon stick, and 2 cloves. Bring to a boil to create a simple syrup.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat and add the dried oranges. Simmer for 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the oranges to soften.
  3. Remove the oranges from the syrup and place them on a serving plate.
  4. Strain the syrup to remove the spices and return it to the pot. Reduce the syrup over medium heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of rose water for fragrance.
  6. Drizzle the reduced syrup over the dried oranges.
  7. Top with chopped almonds and walnuts before serving.
