Ingredients

  • Water - 200 milliliters
  • Butter - 30 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add the semolina to the melted butter, stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes until the semolina turns golden brown.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and water, then heat until the sugar dissolves completely to make a simple syrup.
  4. Pour the syrup into the semolina mixture gradually, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Add the chopped roasted hazelnuts and vanilla extract, and mix well until everything is combined.
  6. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a small dish or mold, pressing down firmly to shape it, and let it set for about 15 minutes.
  9. Once set, slice into pieces and serve warm or at room temperature.
