Steps
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the semolina to the melted butter, stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes until the semolina turns golden brown.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and water, then heat until the sugar dissolves completely to make a simple syrup.
- Pour the syrup into the semolina mixture gradually, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add the chopped roasted hazelnuts and vanilla extract, and mix well until everything is combined.
- Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a small dish or mold, pressing down firmly to shape it, and let it set for about 15 minutes.
