Ingredients
- Dried apples - 4 pieces
- Walnuts - 50 grams, chopped
- Almonds - 25 grams, chopped
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 100 grams
- Water - 250 ml
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cloves - 2 whole
Steps
- Begin by rinsing the dried apples under cold water to remove any dust. Soak them in warm water for about 15 minutes to soften.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, cinnamon, and a tablespoon of sugar. Mix well to create the filling.
- Once the apples have softened, carefully remove them from the water and pat them dry. Stuff each apple with the nut mixture, pressing gently to fill them well.
- In a saucepan, combine the remaining sugar, water, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the stuffed apples to the syrup and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking and absorption of the syrup.
- Once the apples are tender and well-coated with syrup, remove them from the heat and let them cool slightly before serving.
