Ingredients
- Shredded phyllo dough - 100 grams
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- Pistachios - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Erythritol sweetener - 3 tablespoons
- Water - 100 ml
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Rose water - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a small saucepan, combine water, erythritol, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the shredded phyllo dough, mixing until the dough is well-coated.
- Spread half of the buttered dough evenly in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle the finely chopped pistachios evenly over the dough layer.
- Top with the remaining buttered dough, pressing down gently to compact it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup evenly over the hot kadayıf.
- Allow it to sit for 10 minutes before slicing into squares and serving.
