Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 200 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Cream cheese - 100 grams, softened
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
  • Spinach - 100 grams, fresh or frozen, thawed and drained
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg yolk - 1 (for egg wash)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, egg, cream cheese, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. If the dough is too sticky, let it sit for a few minutes to firm up.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the spinach, mozzarella, and feta cheese until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Place a generous amount of the cheese and spinach filling on one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly, creating a half-moon shape.
  8. Place the börek on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops with the egg yolk to give them a golden color when baked.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
