Ingredients

  • Long-grain rice - 100 grams
  • Chestnuts (cooked and peeled) - 100 grams
  • Water - 250 milliliters
  • Butter - 20 grams
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pistachios (chopped) - 20 grams
  • Dried raisins - 20 grams

Steps

  1. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the soaked rice and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it is slightly translucent.
  3. Add the water, sugar, salt, and the cinnamon stick to the saucepan. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice absorbs all the water.
  5. While the rice is cooking, chop the cooked chestnuts into small pieces.
  6. Once the rice is done, remove it from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork, then gently fold in the chopped chestnuts, pistachios, and dried raisins.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with additional chopped pistachios if desired.
