Ingredients
- Long-grain rice - 100 grams
- Chestnuts (cooked and peeled) - 100 grams
- Water - 250 milliliters
- Butter - 20 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Pistachios (chopped) - 20 grams
- Dried raisins - 20 grams
Steps
- Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the soaked rice and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it is slightly translucent.
- Add the water, sugar, salt, and the cinnamon stick to the saucepan. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice absorbs all the water.
- While the rice is cooking, chop the cooked chestnuts into small pieces.
- Once the rice is done, remove it from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork, then gently fold in the chopped chestnuts, pistachios, and dried raisins.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional chopped pistachios if desired.
