Ingredients

  • Lamb shoulder, cubed - 300 grams
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato puree - 150 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - for garnish

Steps

  1. Marinate the lamb cubes in a mixture of olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated lamb for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. While the lamb is cooking, heat the tomato puree in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Toast the pita bread in a toaster or on the grill until crispy, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  5. To serve, layer the pita pieces on a plate, top with grilled lamb, drizzle with the tomato sauce, and add a generous spoonful of yogurt.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
