- Lamb shoulder, cubed - 300 grams
- Plain yogurt - 100 grams
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato puree - 150 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped - for garnish
Steps
- Marinate the lamb cubes in a mixture of olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated lamb for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the lamb is cooking, heat the tomato puree in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Toast the pita bread in a toaster or on the grill until crispy, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- To serve, layer the pita pieces on a plate, top with grilled lamb, drizzle with the tomato sauce, and add a generous spoonful of yogurt.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
