Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet. Roast them in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Once the sugar mixture starts to simmer, stop stirring and allow it to bubble until it turns a light amber color, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly add the butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the butter is fully melted and combined.
