- Flounder (kalkan) fillets - 300 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 150 ml
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the sliced onion and red bell pepper to the skillet, cooking until the onion is soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomato, salt, and black pepper, cooking for another 3 minutes until the tomatoes begin to break down.
- Place the flounder fillets on top of the vegetable mixture and drizzle with lemon juice.
- Pour the water into the skillet, cover with a lid, and reduce the heat to low. Allow the dish to steam for 10-12 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, sprinkle the fresh parsley over the dish before serving.
