Ingredients

  • Fresh squid - 300 grams, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • Rice flour - 100 grams
  • Cornstarch - 50 grams
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Olive oil - for frying
  • Lemon wedges - for serving
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Gradually add water to the flour mixture, whisking until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Dip the squid rings into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Heat olive oil in a deep skillet over medium heat; enough oil should be used to cover the bottom of the pan.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated squid rings in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove the squid from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the Kalamar Tava hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
