Ingredients

  • Yufka (Turkish pastry) - 2 sheets
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
  • Honey - 4 tablespoons
  • Chopped walnuts - 50 grams
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 50 ml

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Lay one sheet of yufka on a clean surface and brush it generously with melted butter.
  3. Sprinkle half of the chopped walnuts and ground cinnamon over the yufka.
  4. Place the second sheet of yufka on top and brush with more melted butter.
  5. Roll the layered yufka tightly into a log and then coil it into a spiral shape.
  6. Transfer the spiral pastry to a baking dish and brush the top with the remaining melted butter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the pastry is baking, warm the honey and water together in a small saucepan until combined.
  9. Once the pastry is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the honey mixture over the top.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and additional chopped walnuts before serving.
