Ingredients
- Yufka (Turkish pastry) - 2 sheets
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- Honey - 4 tablespoons
- Chopped walnuts - 50 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 50 ml
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Lay one sheet of yufka on a clean surface and brush it generously with melted butter.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped walnuts and ground cinnamon over the yufka.
- Place the second sheet of yufka on top and brush with more melted butter.
- Roll the layered yufka tightly into a log and then coil it into a spiral shape.
- Transfer the spiral pastry to a baking dish and brush the top with the remaining melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the pastry is baking, warm the honey and water together in a small saucepan until combined.
- Once the pastry is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the honey mixture over the top.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and additional chopped walnuts before serving.
