- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- Water - 120 ml
- Yeast - 5 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Spinach - 100 grams, chopped
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
- Eggs - 2 large
- Black pepper - to taste
- Red pepper flakes - to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, yeast, and salt.
- Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal portions and roll each portion into an oval shape about 1 cm thick.
- Place the rolled dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Evenly distribute the chopped spinach, crumbled feta cheese, and cherry tomato halves over the dough.
- Make a small well in the center of each pide and crack an egg into the well.
- Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes to taste.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the egg is set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
