Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Yeast - 5 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 15 ml
  • Spinach - 100 grams, chopped
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - to taste

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  5. Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal portions and roll each portion into an oval shape about 1 cm thick.
  6. Place the rolled dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Evenly distribute the chopped spinach, crumbled feta cheese, and cherry tomato halves over the dough.
  8. Make a small well in the center of each pide and crack an egg into the well.
  9. Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes to taste.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the egg is set.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
