Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 250 grams
- warm water - 150 ml
- milk - 50 ml
- active dry yeast - 7 grams
- sugar - 5 grams
- salt - 5 grams
- olive oil - 30 ml
- sesame seeds - for sprinkling
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, warm milk, and olive oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round flatbread about 1-2 cm thick.
- Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 10-15 minutes.
- Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
