Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 400 grams
- Water - 200 ml
- Brown sugar - 100 grams
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped walnuts - 50 grams
- Coconut flakes - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- Peel and cut the pumpkin into small cubes, about 2-3 cm in size.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the pumpkin cubes, water, brown sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan.
- Let it simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pumpkin is tender and the syrup has thickened slightly.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
- Serve the Kabak Tatlısı in small bowls, drizzling the syrup over the top.
- Garnish with chopped walnuts and sprinkle with coconut flakes if desired.
