Ingredients

  • Pumpkin - 400 grams
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Brown sugar - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped walnuts - 50 grams
  • Coconut flakes - 2 tablespoons (optional)

Steps

  1. Peel and cut the pumpkin into small cubes, about 2-3 cm in size.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the pumpkin cubes, water, brown sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan.
  4. Let it simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pumpkin is tender and the syrup has thickened slightly.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  6. Serve the Kabak Tatlısı in small bowls, drizzling the syrup over the top.
  7. Garnish with chopped walnuts and sprinkle with coconut flakes if desired.
