  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Cornmeal - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish) - a handful

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Drizzle lemon juice over the fish fillets and let them marinate for about 5 minutes.
  4. Dip each fillet into the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated on both sides.
  5. In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (around 180°C).
  6. Carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  7. Fry the fish for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once cooked, remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
