Ingredients

  • Horse mackerel - 2 whole fish (about 200g each)
  • All-purpose flour - 100g
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 200ml (for frying)
  • Fresh lemon - 1 (cut into wedges)
  • Parsley - a handful (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Clean the horse mackerel by removing the insides and rinsing under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix the all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Dredge each fish in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated on both sides.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  5. Carefully place the coated fish in the pan and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Once cooked, remove the fish from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and garnish with chopped parsley.
