Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 5 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 20 ml
  • Ground beef or lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - a handful, chopped (for garnish)
  • Yogurt - 100 grams (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. In the meantime, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add ground meat to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, then stir in tomato paste, red pepper flakes, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  7. Roll out the risen dough into two pizza bases. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the pizza bases.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with yogurt on the side.
