- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 100 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 20 ml
- Ground beef or lamb - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh parsley - a handful, chopped (for garnish)
- Yogurt - 100 grams (for serving)
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In the meantime, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground meat to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, then stir in tomato paste, red pepper flakes, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Roll out the risen dough into two pizza bases. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the pizza bases.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with yogurt on the side.
