- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 100 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper, finely chopped - 1 small
- Parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon, sliced - for serving
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare the topping by mixing the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, tomato paste, red bell pepper, parsley, paprika, cumin, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle (about 25 cm in diameter).
- Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly over each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the meat is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Serve with lemon slices on the side.
