Ingredients
- Yufka (Turkish pastry sheets) - 4 sheets
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet, cooking until the meat is browned, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, black pepper, salt, and chopped parsley, mixing well. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Lay one sheet of yufka on a clean surface and brush it lightly with olive oil. Place a second sheet on top and repeat the oiling process.
- Place a portion of the meat filling along one edge of the layered yufka, then roll it up tightly to form a log. Repeat with the remaining yufka and filling.
- Place the rolled börek on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
