Ingredients

  • Ground beef (lean) - 300 grams
  • Onion (finely grated) - 1 medium
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
  • Red onion (sliced) - ¼ medium
  • Yogurt (plain) - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice brown crust.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing plain yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl. Set aside.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  6. Warm the pita bread in the same skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty in each pita, then topping it with sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce.
