Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for grilling)
  • Yogurt - 100 grams (for serving)
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges (for serving)
  • Tomato - 1, sliced (for serving)
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal portions and shape them into oval meatballs (köfte).
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
  4. Grill the köfte for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 70°C).
  5. While the köfte are grilling, prepare the yogurt sauce by simply serving yogurt in a small bowl.
  6. Once the köfte are cooked, serve them hot with yogurt, lemon wedges, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers on the side.
