Ingredients
- Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
- Onion (finely grated) - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Parsley (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Whole wheat flatbreads - 2 pieces
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1 medium
- Lettuce leaves - 4 pieces
- Yogurt (plain, low-fat) - 100 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Shape the mixture into small oval-shaped patties (köfte) about 2 cm thick.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the köfte in the pan and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.
- While the köfte are cooking, prepare the flatbreads by lightly warming them in a separate pan or microwave for a few seconds until soft.
- To assemble the wraps, place 2 köfte on each flatbread, top with lettuce leaves, tomato, and cucumber slices.
- Drizzle with yogurt before wrapping the flatbread around the filling. Serve immediately.
