Ingredients
- Ground beef (or lamb) - 250 grams
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Sumac - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 2 large
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, half of the chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, sumac, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Shape the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the sumac onion salad by mixing the remaining chopped onion with 1 teaspoon of sumac, a pinch of salt, and a drizzle of olive oil. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a gluten-free bun, top with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a generous amount of the sumac onion salad.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Köfte with Sumac Burger!
