Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Ground beef - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Bell peppers (red or yellow) - 2 large
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cut the bell peppers in half and remove the seeds. Place them on a baking tray, cut side up, and drizzle with a little olive oil. Roast in the oven for 25 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Form the meat mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  6. Once the peppers are done roasting, remove them from the oven and drizzle with lemon juice.
  7. Serve the köfte patties alongside the roasted peppers, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
