Ingredients

  • Ground beef (kosher) - 250 grams
  • Ground lamb (kosher) - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Bell peppers (mixed colors) - 2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, diced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
  2. Shape the meat mixture into small oval-shaped meatballs, about 3 cm in length.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell peppers and sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
  5. Add the diced tomato to the peppers and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the tomato is soft.
  6. Return the cooked meatballs to the skillet with the peppers and tomatoes. Drizzle with lemon juice and stir gently to combine.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
