- Ground beef (kosher) - 300 grams
- Fresh parsley - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Fresh mint leaves - 10 grams, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 small, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Pita bread - 2 pieces, for serving
- Lemon wedges - 2, for garnish
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped parsley, chopped mint, grated onion, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 5 cm long and 2 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil.
- Place the köfte patties on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely browned.
- While the köfte is grilling, warm the pita bread on the side of the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the köfte hot with warm pita bread and lemon wedges for squeezing over.
