Ingredients

  • Ground beef (kosher) - 300 grams
  • Fresh parsley - 30 grams, finely chopped
  • Fresh mint leaves - 10 grams, finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 small, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces, for serving
  • Lemon wedges - 2, for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped parsley, chopped mint, grated onion, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 5 cm long and 2 cm thick.
  4. Preheat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil.
  5. Place the köfte patties on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely browned.
  6. While the köfte is grilling, warm the pita bread on the side of the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve the köfte hot with warm pita bread and lemon wedges for squeezing over.
