Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely grated
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small oval patties, approximately 5 cm in length.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the köfte and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  4. In a separate small saucepan, heat the remaining olive oil over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste and water, mixing well. Allow the sauce to simmer for 5 minutes, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the köfte warm, drizzled with the garlic sauce, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
