  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Bell pepper (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Zucchini (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium
  • Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, salt, and chopped parsley. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the köfte patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Remove the köfte from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and zucchini. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  5. Add the chopped tomato to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. To serve, place each köfte patty in a whole wheat pita, top with the sautéed vegetables, and drizzle with lemon juice.
