- Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
- Onion (finely grated) - 1 medium
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Bell pepper (sliced) - 1 medium
- Zucchini (sliced) - 1 medium
- Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium
- Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, salt, and chopped parsley. Mix well until fully combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the köfte patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the köfte from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and zucchini. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Add the chopped tomato to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To serve, place each köfte patty in a whole wheat pita, top with the sautéed vegetables, and drizzle with lemon juice.
