Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Tomato sauce - 150 grams
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Bread rolls - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are browned and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, heat the tomato sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in red pepper flakes, if using, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Toast the bread rolls lightly on a skillet or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each roll, followed by the cooked köfte patty, a spoonful of the tomato sauce, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers. Top with the other half of the roll.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite side or salad.
