Ingredients

  • Ground fish (like cod or haddock) - 250 grams
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato sauce - 200 grams
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground fish, parsley, garlic, red onion, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Form the mixture into small patties, about 5 cm in diameter, and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the seafood köfte and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the köfte is cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan or in the oven until soft.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over low heat until warmed through. Add lemon juice and stir to combine.
  6. To serve, place the warm pita bread on plates, top with the cooked köfte, and generously spoon the tomato sauce over the top.
  7. Add a dollop of yogurt on the side for creaminess. Serve immediately and enjoy!
