Ingredients
- Ground beef (or lamb) - 250 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large
- Gluten-free breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cooked rice - 150 grams
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2 pieces
- Tomato, sliced - 1 medium
- Lettuce leaves - a few
- Yogurt sauce (yogurt, garlic, lemon juice) - for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef (or lamb), chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, egg, and gluten-free breadcrumbs. Mix well until combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the rice as per package instructions if not already cooked. Fluff the rice and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and lightly toast the gluten-free burger buns for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
- To assemble, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a köfte patty, a generous scoop of cooked rice, and a slice of tomato.
- Drizzle some yogurt sauce over the top, then cap with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
