- Whole wheat pasta - 200 grams
- Ground beef (lean) - 200 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium (100 grams)
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Parsley (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Tomato sauce - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 500 milliliters
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, approximately the size of a walnut.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the tomato sauce. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the whole wheat pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Add the browned meatballs to the tomato sauce, along with 500 milliliters of water. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked pasta, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
