Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pasta - 200 grams
  • Ground beef (lean) - 200 grams
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium (100 grams)
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Parsley (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Tomato sauce - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 500 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, approximately the size of a walnut.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the tomato sauce. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the whole wheat pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  6. Add the browned meatballs to the tomato sauce, along with 500 milliliters of water. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked pasta, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
