- Almond flour - 100g
- Egg - 1 large
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 100g
- Ground beef (or lamb) - 200g
- Onion (finely chopped) - 50g
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a bowl, combine almond flour, egg, and mozzarella cheese to form a dough. Mix until well combined.
- Place the dough between two pieces of parchment paper and roll it out into a thin circle, about 0.5 cm thick.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft.
- Add ground beef (or lamb) to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Stir in tomato paste, red pepper flakes, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and mix in chopped parsley.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the baked crust.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes until the edges are crispy.
- Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
