Ingredients

  • Ground lamb or beef - 300 grams
  • Onion, grated - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Skewers - 4 (if using wooden, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly by hand until well incorporated.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into an elongated patty around the skewer.
  4. Brush the formed köfte with olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the köfte are browned and cooked through.
  7. Once done, remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
