- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Turkish bread (pide or simit) - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 2
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, minced garlic, grated onion, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the köfte patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the köfte are cooking, lightly toast the Turkish bread in a separate pan or oven until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing one köfte patty on each piece of toasted bread.
- Top each köfte with slices of tomato, cucumber, red onion, and lettuce leaves.
- Cover with the top half of the bread, press gently, and serve immediately.
