- Chickpea flour - 200 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Spinach - 100 grams, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, salt, and water to form a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it is pliable. Let it rest for 10 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
- In a separate bowl, mix the crumbled feta cheese, chopped spinach, and black pepper to create the filling.
- Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle on a floured surface.
- Place half of the filling on one half of each dough circle, then fold the other half over to create a half-moon shape, sealing the edges well.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook each gözleme for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy, adding more olive oil as needed.
- If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top while cooking.
- Serve warm with yogurt or a side of fresh salad.
