Ingredients

  • Phyllo dough - 200 grams
  • Crushed pistachios - 100 grams
  • Coconut oil - 50 grams (melted)
  • Maple syrup - 75 ml
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pistachios, ground cinnamon, and half of the maple syrup. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted coconut oil.
  4. Place a second sheet of phyllo dough on top of the first and brush it with more coconut oil.
  5. Spoon a line of the pistachio mixture along one edge of the dough, then roll it tightly into a log, sealing the filling inside.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and pistachio mixture until all are rolled.
  7. Arrange the rolled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. While the pastries are baking, prepare the syrup by combining the remaining maple syrup and water in a small saucepan. Add vanilla extract and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
  10. Once the pastries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle the warm syrup over them.
  11. Allow the Fıstıklı Sarma to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
