Ingredients
- Phyllo dough - 200 grams
- Crushed pistachios - 100 grams
- Coconut oil - 50 grams (melted)
- Maple syrup - 75 ml
- Water - 100 ml
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pistachios, ground cinnamon, and half of the maple syrup. Mix well and set aside.
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted coconut oil.
- Place a second sheet of phyllo dough on top of the first and brush it with more coconut oil.
- Spoon a line of the pistachio mixture along one edge of the dough, then roll it tightly into a log, sealing the filling inside.
- Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and pistachio mixture until all are rolled.
- Arrange the rolled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the pastries are baking, prepare the syrup by combining the remaining maple syrup and water in a small saucepan. Add vanilla extract and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Once the pastries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle the warm syrup over them.
- Allow the Fıstıklı Sarma to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
