Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 120 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground beef - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken or vegetable broth - 500 ml
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Mint leaves - 1 teaspoon, dried
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, egg, water, and salt to form a dough. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface until thin. Cut into small squares (about 4x4 cm).
  6. Place a small amount of the beef filling in the center of each square and fold the corners to form dumplings. Pinch to seal tightly.
  7. Arrange the dumplings on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While the dumplings are baking, bring the broth to a simmer in a pot.
  9. Once the dumplings are ready, add them to the simmering broth and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  10. Serve hot, drizzled with yogurt, and sprinkle paprika and dried mint on top.
