Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 80 ml
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground beef or lamb - 150 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Yogurt - 200 grams
  • Mint leaves - 1 teaspoon, dried
  • Butter - 30 grams
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, water, egg, and salt to form a smooth dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes until elastic and let it rest for 30 minutes covered.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the ground meat, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until the meat is browned, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until thin. Cut into 5 cm squares. Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square, fold the edges to form a dumpling, and pinch to seal tightly.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the dumplings on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and brush with melted butter.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
  6. While the dumplings are baking, mix the yogurt with dried mint and season with salt to taste.
  7. Once the dumplings are done, serve them warm drizzled with yogurt sauce and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
