Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Water - 80 ml
- Egg - 1 large
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground beef or lamb - 150 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Yogurt - 200 grams
- Mint leaves - 1 teaspoon, dried
- Butter - 30 grams
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, water, egg, and salt to form a smooth dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes until elastic and let it rest for 30 minutes covered.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the ground meat, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until the meat is browned, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until thin. Cut into 5 cm squares. Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square, fold the edges to form a dumpling, and pinch to seal tightly.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the dumplings on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and brush with melted butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
- While the dumplings are baking, mix the yogurt with dried mint and season with salt to taste.
- Once the dumplings are done, serve them warm drizzled with yogurt sauce and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
